Research Update
My research topic is pretty much "How bad were the Conquistadors to the Native Americans?" The main focuses of my research are Christopher Columbus, Hernan Cortes, Francisco Pizarro, and Las Casas de Bartolome. So, Christopher Columbus was the man who(probably)discovered the Americas. He treated the Natives in an odd way. He first screwed the Natives over by trading them pennies for land, essentially. Then Columbus made a "law" that prohibited unfair trading with the Natives. Even though this obviously didn't last, at least he tried. Hernan Cortes was a man who desired fame and fortune. So, he became an explorer and sought the city of gold. Cortes ended up finding the Aztecs, taking their riches, killing their leader, conquering the city of gold, and becoming very powerful. Francisco Pizarro was a man with a very interesting story. So, Pizarro was an explorer and eventually ended up sailing to the Americas with his partner, Almagro. Halfway through the journey...
Dear __ Year Old
Dear 12 year old, go on the hunting trip. Even though it seems like a bad idea, you should really go. You may not know it now, but that trip will help you succeed in so many more ways than you could imagine. Also, whenever you're there, try not to go 50 mph on a 4-wheeler on a steep path in the woods. Does NOT work out well in the end. Dear 10 year old, remember Jeb. After he's gone forever, you don't want to barely be able to remember him because I took him for granted. And remember to stay close to Jeb because he can really make life better. Just keep a picture of him, or just spend more time with him everyday. It will impact in a good way, I promise.
