Strengths and Challenges

After reading the instructions for this assignment, I immediately thought of voice/tone as a strength of mine. I feel like when I read my own writing it sounds like me, not just some random writer. Another strength of mine is audience. I think that I can change my writing styles depending on who my audience or target audience is. This has never been difficult for me. My final strength is staying with my genre. I think this is probably everyone's strength because it's just staying on topic. For my weaknesses, I'd have to start with citations. I have always hated doing citations because I just don't think that they only need to be written down once at the end of a paper. And with all these in-text citations being introduced this year, I have found myself annoyed because I don't know why I need to repeatedly cite the same sources over and over again. What was your most precious childhood possession?

Right after I saw this option at the top of the list I knew I had to respond to it. My most precious childhood possession, or possessions, would have to be my "silkies." My silkies were two small blankets I've had since I was born. One was red and made of smooth silk, while the other was made of a slightly tougher fabric. I would always sleep with my silkies and ring them on trips. I would even walk around with them occasionally. I really loved bringing my silkies everywhere I went and, as said earlier, I brought them on trips. So when my family and I were going on a cruise to Alaska, I brought my silkies. Sadly, I don't remember this trip too well, but I do remember crying at my house when I realized I left my silkies somewhere on that cruise ship the day we got back home. Luckily, my grandma and aunt were generous enough to go and have the silkies remade the exact same.

Exciting Story from Summer

I could barely see the rocks. All I knew were that they were sharp, I forgot my shoes, and my phone-flashlight isn't helping much. "Hey how much farther?" I hear. "I can't see to the end!" I shout over the waves crashing on the rocks beneath us. Whenever I came to the beach I was expecting to be in this situation. My friend, Parsa, and I had walked 3 miles to come to these huge rocks that went out about half a mile into the ocean. So, we left the condo at night to try and get across these. The problem was these were all different sizes and were all jagged and misplaced. "Hey watch out for this!" I hear. Then I fall. "Jack?" I hear. Dazed, I realized that I had fallen onto a smooth rock and almost fallen onto an extremely sharp rock. I manage to get up and then climb up to where Parsa is. "You good?" "Yeah, lets just get to the end of this." It only takes us about 10 minutes to get to the end of the rocks. And after ...
