Tucker's Dialogue Fox's Dialogue

Dialogue

I can't believe this. All I want to do is figure out what they were saying. You know what? I'm going over to Frank to ask him; and I'm getting an answer. "Hey Frank. I gotta ask you something." I call. Frank, the tallest kid in the grade, walks over to me. "What do you want, Tim?" "Could you just tell me what y'all are talking about?" "Nope." "But why not? Please tell me." I beg. "Sorry bud, but I can't do that." I keep getting these responses until I'm fed up with it. I was going to figure out what they were talking about, no matter what. "Look, I just really want to know." I say, slowly thinking of a plan. "Why do you even want to know man?" Frank is starting to get aggravated, so I respond quickly. "I may or may not know what y'all are talking about, but nevertheless I know a secret. Or actually it's more of a rumor," Frank's turning away so I panic

Reading Response: The Revenge of Seven

This book has been getting better and better the farther it's read into. There are so many plot twists and dynamic characters that this could very well be the best book out of the entire I Am Number Four series. Yet the most "defining" aspect out of these books is the vivid detail. Whenever I read this I feel immersed in the book and as if I'm a part of the book. Sometimes it only takes mere minutes to feel this way after starting reading. Another one of these "defining aspects" are the plot twists. As mentioned earlier, plot twists are relevant and somewhat frequent in the book. These twists can vary from just simple things to changing the entire story's plot. This book is really great and I highly recommend it.

Cade- Hurricane Katrina Logan- Hurricane Katrina Bronwyn- Dear 9 year old Addi- Advice

Dear __ Year Old

Dear 12 year old, go on the hunting trip. Even though it seems like a bad idea, you should really go. You may not know it now, but that trip will help you succeed in so many more ways than you could imagine. Also, whenever you're there, try not to go 50 mph on a 4-wheeler on a steep path in the woods. Does NOT work out well in the end. Dear 10 year old, remember Jeb. After he's gone forever, you don't want to barely be able to remember him because I took him for granted. And remember to stay close to Jeb because he can really make life better. Just keep a picture of him, or just spend more time with him everyday. It will impact in a good way, I promise.

Reading Response: The Revenge of seven

In The Reve nge of Seven , there are multiple interesting characters, but I'm just going to focus on one of those characters: number 4. Number 4, also known as John, is a very dynamic character. When the series starts, John is just a kid that is afraid of the people that he knows are hunting him. Because he was constantly on the run, he didn't have any encounters with the mogadorians until he was 14. But now, in the 5th book in the series, 4 has changed so much. In The Revenge of Seven , 4 has become a leader figure. He is the person who charges into battle before anyone else. What's also interesting about him is that it seems like the author has something planned out for John in the future, but I can't put my finger on it. He's constantly getting stronger and more courageous; possibly to the point of sacrifice? This is what I think about the future for 4.

The Tragedy of Katrina

During hurricane Katrina, the only thing people that didn't live inside of New Orleans could do was watch the news and pray. Because of this, most people were just confused and scared. But for the citizens of New Orleans, this was a whole other thing. There are many stories about how it was in the middle of Katrina, but the reader of this will only hear of one. During the dark night, Alyssa heard the sound of screams and cries. She wished she could cry, but she was all out of tears from crying. Alyssa was sitting in a shelter with her parents after being recused from the roof of her now-flooded house. Then she imagined how long and hard it will be to rebuild her home. She just wanted to curl up into a ball and be able to be free from all this pain and suffering. Now, Alyssa has finally moved into her home; but Katrina is something that she'll never forget.

Reading Response: The Revenge of Seven

In the book, The Revenge of Seven, there is a plot that is very centered around one character: Seven. After her "lover" was murdered right before her eyes, she seeks revenge, hence the title. This book really puts emphasis on emotions and makes the reader just locked-in. The writer uses really great wording too. Because of these, the reader is bound to feel a part of the story. The writer also use sentence structure to his advantage. In this book, Pittacus Lore is constantly organizing the book so right when something seems unimportant, there's some plot twist. The final thing the author does well is build up to things and foreshadow. The build-ups of the books are incredible because the reader knows that something is coming, but can only assume what is happening. The foreshadowing aspect is really interesting because of how hard it is to notice, but how it is in "plain sight".
